Jackson Hole sits at the foot of the Grand Tetons with lakes, moose and elk wandering the valley and a lively Western town square. It is a base for both Grand Teton and Yellowstone, and a major ski destination in winter.
Good to know
- Wildlife is dangerous: keep 25 yards from elk and moose, and 100 yards from bears and wolves.
- Summer sees heavy traffic into the parks; start early or stay in Moose or Colter Bay.
- Many seasonal roads and services close from November to early May.
